The Last Caretaker (Early Access)
The Last Caretaker (early access) was released in November 2025, developed and published by Channel37 Ltd. It’s an indie, simulation and strategy type game. You play as a robot “the last caretaker”, tasked to save the future by exploring and crafting.

My Review of The Last Caretaker
I received a review copy of this game and at the time of writing this, I have played the game for 29 hours. I typically enjoy open-world, survival and crafter type games, and upon starting, I quickly became attached to the resource collecting and recipe unlocking. You rebuild an old ship and explore the ocean to discover points of interest where you progress in the game and uncover more items and alien creatures. The underwater shark-like creatures are surprisingly eerie and can make for interesting underwater exploration. You will come across slug-like creatures, that I find get annoying, as it can be constant waves that come out at night. Gathering resources for power and light became repetitive within a few hours of game play, and the lack of scenery (with being on the ocean) makes progress in the game dull (in my opinion). While playing, it was heavy on the memory and CPU (compared to other similar games I play).
I will check in with this game when I see patches come through, as it’s still in early access and I’m curious to see if more ship customization elements will be added in. For now I give this game a rating of 2/5 stars. It badly needs to be optimized to run better. There is a demo available on Steam if you’d like to check it out.
